Default E2140 overclocking is amazing!

I thought I'd give the E2140 (Q705A) a chance while waiting for price drops. Well, I'm not going to sell it for an E6750 anymore. This chip runs cool and has reached a high overclock with a relatively low voltage.

91% overclock, and 12 hours Orthos stable.

It took only 1.43V to get this and runs 41ºC loaded! I hope you guys enjoy looking at this, seeing as I'm one of the few people on this site that has this chip. I will continue to overclock after work, going up to 1.5V

Not to sound like an ass, but 3GHz on 1.43V is a pretty poor C2D OC. What are you using for Cooling and what is your ambient temp? Look at Core Temp for temp readings, most other programs are not correct. I cannot even run 41C loaded with only 1.3V and watercooling in this weather.

Considering it started out at 1.6 I'd consider 3G pretty impressive.

exactly...C2D dual-core @ 3GHz on air for under $100CDN, pretty damn nice IMO

sure most E6XXXs will do that on less voltage but not for under a hundred bones.

A little update, now doing 3.2ghz with 1.43V, 45ºC! It's doing an Orthos test and has been stable for 1 hour.

Thanks for reading guys!

Well, it's kind of like saying that an E6600 running at 4.5ghz with 1.43V is poor. They are two different CPUS running two different stock speeds.

My ambient is 23ºC and coretemp crashes my PC, and TAT doesn't work; both speedfan and SmartGuardian read the same temperature.
