Damn, the speed doesn't want to budge after 3.2ghz, even with 1.5V. I'll be getting water cooling soon and I'll push the Vcore to 1.6V.

I know the feeling. System specs:

E2140 @ 3.0 - 1.43V
XFX 650i
Crucial Rendition PC2-5300 single 1Gb 4-4-4-12 1T
WD 80gb
ATI X300 PCI-e
Swiftech Premium kit, CPU only.

Major droop problem with that FSP 350W. I just may be asking a bit too much.

CPU-Z Validator Database

Dual-32m Prime testing stable, 18 hours Orthos stable. Idle temp. 28C (ambiant 24C), load temp 44C running Orthos.

Tried 3.1, unstable. 3.2 won't boot, even with 1.5V.

But that's good enough for me.

John

Amazing results! I have an e2160 here that's not happy at much over 2.84 (batch is L709A) on water- doesn't come close to my e4300. Based on my results I would have to recommend the e4300 as the better value, but it seems like people are having better luck than me with the e21xx's and much lesser results with the e4300s.

I think I spoke too fast. E2140 @ 3.0 I started folding yesterday morning and got EUEs in less than 1 hour. So I went back to Orthos - and after 21 hours it failed.... Memtest is fine for that single stick.

So I'm back to square 1 testing with Orthos @ 2.9, stock 5-5-5-15 1T timings and 1.37V. Still have that major Vdroop of .05V and a 12V of 10.2! Temps are beautiful though: 24C idle, load max of 45C using Speedfan.

I think I need a new PSU to replace that FSP 350W. It's just asking too much. I do have an Antec 380W (with more amps on the 12V+), but with 20 pins, not 24 pins.

I think you can use a 20 pin with a 24 pin slot, I'd have to check up on it.

@3.0charlie, I think you should definitely look into a new PSU. Are you still running Windows 98 there?!? Looks a lot like it. Hopefully it's 2000.
