Why is the ASUS Maximus II Formula more expensive, and its DDR2?
1.Because it's ASUS..and their equivalent boards are generally more expensive than GigaByte's. 2.It's also one of the ROG(Republic Of Gamers) boards which are loaded to the hilt....and also command a higher price due to the name. 3. It also uses 16-phase power circuitry, and comes with a seperate sound card, external LCD poster.. and onboard start/reset buttons(nice ).

You likely won't get much better..if even as good of overclocks as the EP45-UD3P. Check out the Quad records on HWBot...a large % are set using the UD3P.

Hm... Such a hard decision... ASUS looks so bad . But if gigabyte overclocks better

What are their other boards, better than the EP45-UD3P
