Biostar TPower i45 Board

Quick question for y'all

I have the Biostar P45 board, and the cooler harbor as they call, uses a 70mm fan.. I did a search on google and found a thread where the fan stats are posted at some 4000+rpm (Can't remember exactly)..

But my question was does anybody have or know where I can find a fan that size, even NCIX doesn't have in stock, and the ones they have are like 2000+ rpm.. which makes me wonder the fan speed is low..

I was first looking to buy another board as that fan has died on me twice.. but then I now will try to do this the cheap way.. Maybe even use couple Antec Spot Cool fans to cool the sb, nb and mofsets..

Please help...

Is it regular NB size? I have a pile of dead boards that may have something that will work. Can you post a pic?

Good idea for the NB.. I could use something, i'm more concerned about the sb and mofsets though.. get hot, plus no fan = no airflow .. touch the board from the back and yea it' hot.

Good luck finding a 70mm fan... Antec Spot Cool is your best bet.

Miggs, I never once put that cooler harbor fan on my Biostar I45. Your case should have a mount for an exhaust fan right where that harbor goes. Put a 2000 rpm 120mm fan on your case, lots of airflow over your mosfets, no problems. I always thought that thing was more of a marketing gimmick than anything.

Hello Gord.. Do you mean a fan on top of the case right..

Since the PSU's 120mm fan pulls hot air inwards and blows it out, if I put air coming, that shouldn't cause any negative airflow right?

I was also thinking about that Zalman solution they had with that bracket that attached to the PCI slots and a 92mm fan, only issue I see is, I think the first 2 slots are used up by my 4870 card, and the bracket isn't all that long.. I was just looking at it cost wise, $15 for one spot cool fan.. kinda expensive for a broke guy lol!!...

I'm not familar with your case, but doesn't it have a place for a fan mount right above the keyboard/usb connection panel? 90 or 120mm?

That would create decent airflow over the mosfets.

Yeah just get a fan in there and you are fine man. zip ties and coat hangers for the win.

That's an exhaust fan, are you trying to assume if I put an antec spot cool there.. I'm lost here, sorry :(

I was actually looking at going back to my Gigabyte 570 case, it becomes expensive to stop from US, I don't have those special clips that are used to mount those fans in place..

But back on topic for the board.. for some reason I am thinking you are trying to tell me that is an exhaust fan, but I keep wondering about creating airflow around there.. *hides behind sofa*

That fan is really useless.

As long as you have a good exhaust fan on your case your fine.
