An e6750 is only $30 more and i'd imagine has way more o/c room than that 6000.

Recently picked up a 3600 X2, that too for $65. If you want the best price to performance ratio ATM go for an AMD system, I was on a tight budget so I picked up the 3600 X2, I haven't recieved my mobo yet but got the Biostar Tforce570 SLI (I know Biostar :/ but have read and heard quite good things about this board) and got both of them for $155, was eyeing the E4300/E4400 but ended up with an AMD rig since the CPU and mobo would have cost me about as much as a C2D CPU.

I guess if you wanna play the waiting game then go ahead but you might get frustrated and end up making a wrong decision(trust me no matter how much you deny it now it can happen to you, have had a friend go through that recently), and I honestly can't see an Intel set-up as a budget PC right now. If you are cash strapped like me then go for an AMD rig, I'll keep you updated on how much I can pump out of the Brisbane once it is OC'ed

I think the 4400+ or the 6000+ is the best for that system.
