Ok I fixed the problem.
The screws fit, but they were sticking before they screwed in fully.
I forced them into the spacers (took more force than I would have used with them in the mobo),
then screwed them out and in a bunch of times...
Now they fit fine... motherboard doesn't move anymore.

cool i always dry fit the screws before you out the mb in just for this reason
