Best non-Sli motherboard?

Just received a new order; customer wants her (yes, her) rig ASAP. What's the best mobo, non-Sli around 200$?

I'll do more research today (found the new Gigabyte P35 with DDR2/3 @ DC for 203$), but I have to order no later that 20:30 EST tonight.

Thanks all!

John

The best in terms of what? Features? Price/performance? Ocability?

cujo June 19, 2007 02:07 PM

either gigabyte or asus p5k board. both oc very high and have excellent stock performance and stability.

Kinda wrote that thread fast... sorry.

Oc'ing: definitely.
USB ports, Firewire, on-board Sound, RAID, SATA ports.

1 PCI-Express slot. No WiFi needed. No Sli needed.

Will be using a E6300 with WD Raptor 36gb in Raid 0, OCZ Platinum 2x 1gb, OCZ GameXtreem 700W, eVga 8800GTS 640mb and Swiftech's Ultra + WC (yes, again...) all in a brand new, unknown case!

John

edit: forgot to add that she is not looking at upgrading in the near future. DDR3 is not mandatory, but to have the P35 chipset may be interesting. That's why that Gigabyte mobo looks interesting...

Yeah I agree giga or asus p35. Kick ass for mem clocking and has good fsb wall.

Here's the chosen one: Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R Atx LGA775 Conroe P35 DDR2/DDR3 1PCI-E16 Sata Raid Sound Gblan Motherbard - DirectCanada

We'll see how this one behaves Thursday night.

You putting that into another 180?????? :)

3.0charlie June 19, 2007 07:15 PM

Never again the P180.

This time around the chosen case is a Lian-Li. http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...acture=LIAN-LI

It will be interesting to fit the rad, somewhere...

Sweet!!!!

I love Lian-Li cases, but yeah..... where to mount the rad.......?????

Don't forget to drop us some pics if you get the chance, you've been putting together some mighty clean looking 180 WC builds, I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with for this case.

Man- that's a beaut! I wish I knew people locally that were interested in kick-ass systems so I could build them- I'd be happy just to have my hands on all that gear- even if it was just passing through. I've tried to get my friends interested but they're far too practical :)
