When it Rains....it Pours... What should I Do?

Well, with my VC on RMA Right now, my Main is obviously Down (HIS Fan went in case anyone doesn't know).
So, in my boredom I decided that since I'm doing this new Diamond IC7 TIM, I would prep my Chip and HSF for the arrival of the good stuff.
THat way, I could do a clean run through on Fresh stuff from both.

This, is where It becomes an Epic fail everyone.
So, I was cleaning off the TIM from my Chip, and I placed it on my Anti-static Mat, and then I proceeded to clean the HSF..

Well, I knocked over the bloodly bottle of Iso Alcohol right onto the chip...and in my haste to pick the thing up, dropped it right on the ground because I couldn't get a grip.

Here is where the question comes.
I know this stuff (the ISO Alcohol Evaps right quick in air) but do I risk attempting to put this Chip Back into my RIg and Seeing if it runs? Will I cook my MB?
Or, do I try and find the Recipt and hope to RMA it not knowing if it works or not?
I am at a real loss here everyone.
And, for being so safety oriented in my day to day life...I really dropped the ball on this one.

My only consolation is I have a Core 2 E4700 in my Bench...
But a RIg with that , and Onboard Graphics is not worth it.
As it stands, I've been running off my Test system since my Card went south...

i THINK it should be okay if its completely drying... i hope alcohol didnt get inside the cpu chip...

I'd let it sit for a good 24h, then clean the chip and contacts with alcohol just to make sure there's no floor dirt stuck to it.

Then it should be good to go IMO.

Yeah I agree that ISO should have evaporated pretty quickly I should think, im not sure if it leaves much of a residue once its dry, you should ask braineater I bet hes got some experience with it =P

It should be fine, if there's no physical damage.

well I think the cap on most processors is airtight or dam close to it. I think it should be alright, I'm guessing you checked the pins or see if they weren't bent?

I'm praying Charlie...I've cleaned soooo many damn Chips/HSF's and Never has this happened.
It was, approx a 3ft drop from workbench to floor.
I'm gonna take my special cloth and clean it all (light white residue) , and plug it in and hope for the best..

Just make sure the base is not cracked, or the edges are not damaged.

Tried 3 different Seats , took over two hours to clean the damn thing up.
No Dice, No CPU Detected...

I'm down to onboard Video and my E4700 now.
