It died?!? That means there was internal core damage. I'm the first surprised.

Yeah, I would say I was shocked....but that isn't the case.
I pretty much assumed it was done. See, it had good inertia when it got hurdled towards the ground out of my hands..

Well, they say bad things come in 3's , so lets see what else blows up on it tonight/weekend and then I'll have to figure out how the hell I'm gonna get it all replaced/fixed.

I wonder if I should spend the coin to RMA the chip , or cut my losses and start planning a Quad Build..

The shining Light is...this was my own personal Computer, not a build for someone.
So the loss is my own, and easily absorbed.

Hey ST,,,bummer man....but if it was a build you were doing for me and that happened..I can guarentee you'd still absorbing the cost....easily. hahahahahhaha
All joking aside....as Mom would say...when dealt Lemons, make Lemonade....as in Quad Core!!! I saw on DC that an I7 is now had for around $350.

I guess RJ it comes down to the odds of everything. I have done many a build in my days, and all worked , most flawlessly (i.e. no DOA's etc etc..).
I guess it was just my time to have it all go to hell.

I will wait and see what my Tax Return is like (if I've done my homework right , it should be very good) , and perhaps then I can go Core i7.
For now, I am stuck looking at a dying build.

Oh well, it can all be replaced eventually.

Its no consolation, I'm sure, but I'd bet my money on ESD(carpet) killing it(I'm 99% sure of this), not the ISO. Unless the alcohol is terribly contaminated(dirty) its not conductive, in-fact 99% ISO alcohol baths are usually what you do after spilling water or etc on electronics before drying.

Spare me the moral tales, but perhaps an RMA is in order? After all there's many ways ESD could occur.

I think it was shock personally...I know ISO evaps fast and this stuff was 99% so I should have just let it dry, but first reaction was get it out of the liquid. Instinct before common sense it seems. But then again, the carpet could have done it (its that really thin shag stuff ontop of a concrete floor).
I gotta dig through my recipts and see when I bought this , and attempt an RMA.
Intel is 3 Years right??? Think they will take a good look at it?
One question, What Moral Tales?

Triggz: I'll keep my eyes open , see what I can see. First things first, and that is what the tax man chooses to give me this year. Once I have a physical Cheque in my hand then I will decide what I am going to do.
Here is to hoping. Again, I still have it running (its amazing what 4megs of Cache will do for you) on my E4700, with Onboard GFX's!!!!!!!
Once I get my Card back from RMA I'll be a happy person.
Thanks for the Win 7 , hopefully it will end up this way this time lol!

Regards,
ST
