Gigabyte X58 Extreme
I just installed this board into my system...
So far I'm only running clock speeds of 3.4ghz, no crazy overclock until I know for sure that the water cooling setup is solid. So far so good though...very stable.
I'm not going to post any pics of the motherboard...there are already 1000 of them on the web.
the layout of the board is superb,it's well thought out, and everything installs very easily.
It's attractive (yup, that matters)
It's heavy (as far as mobo's go)
it has a TON of USB connectors (8 on the main board alone!)
Comes with a PCI riser that has two E-sata plugs and a 4 pin molex plug...I think that may come in handy for testing new fans and stuff like that!
10!! Sata connections...And with only 5 sata devices, that leaves me lots of room for expansion!
It has a beautifully built passive northbridge cooler...that's what I'm using, even though the board comes with a watercooling block for the northbridge...the problem with the northbridge block is that the barbs are built in, and they're only 3/8"! They should make them removable barbs...that's my biggest gripe with this board so far...
The software and utilities are abundant, it even comes with Kapersky...not that I use it!! LOL
I'll see in the next couple of days if it's stable past 4ghz...I can't see why not, there are people getting that on air...
I'll keep you posted on my experiences with this board.
