Asus P6T ... What's the difference?

I'm planning on buying an Asus P6T MoBo and I've noticed that there seem to be 4 different versions.

They are:

1. Asus P6T
2. Asus P6T Deluxe
3. Asus P6T Deluxe V2
4. Asus P6T Deluxe OC Palm

Now, it's pretty obvious that the "deluxe" is superior (at least one would hope) to the "non-deluxe" version.

The deluxe V2 ... Is this version 2? and if it is, is it in any way better that the V1?

The OC Palm version comes with that little Palm unit that lets you OC without accessing the desktop ... Is this the only difference between it and the deluxe?

Any help would be greatly appreciated ...

From my research the only difference I can tell from the Deluxe to the V.2 is the V.2 lacks the sas controllers. It seems to me the V.2 is a downgrade from the Deluxe. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Another difference is the V2 is spec'd for 24GB ram, the V1 only for 12GB...

Yep, the only difference between v2 and v1 is lack of SAS controllers! It is beyond me the reasoning behind the release of the V2 being so similar.... and it kinda seems like it's hard to find buying online.

From my understanding, both the deluxe versions support 24GB ram, it's the P6T that supports just 12GB. The P6T Deluxe had a BIOS update to allow the 24GB If you're using that much RAM, you're insane!

The OC palm version is the same board, just an included hand held "remote" if you will used for overclocking.. worth the extra 40 bucks? I personally didn't think so.

There is also a WS revolution workstation version..

Thanks for all the info ... There doesn't seem to be a hell of a lot of difference between the V1 and the V2. I guess that's why the prices are identical.

I was seriously considering the OC Palm version but I doubt that I would get much use out that little palm remote thing.

12 or 24GB of RAM ... I don't think that will be an issue

I think I'll go with the "regular" P6T deluxe

Don't get the palm. It is a waste of 40 bucks IMO. There really isn't any benefit and you might as well overclock in the BIOS.
