Default Phenom II performance

I'm looking to use a Phenom II and Amd Overdrive. I have read that the Phenom II has ACC built into the cpu. Does this mean I can use a non-SB750 soutbridge and still get good oc'ing results? Some sources say that a SB750 is required where as the AMD website says Overdrive will work on a 770-series mb.

Has anyone been able to attain good overclocks using a non-SB750 chipset such as the 770-series or an NVIDIA chipset?

ACC works with the 700 series SB, ACC was very useful with the 9x50 Phenoms. The Phenom II is a much better CPU and does not get as much (if any) benefit from ACC.

AOD will work on any of the 700 series NB mobos, I've used it on my M3A32-MVP 790FX/600 and it works fine, although I prefer using the BIOS to o/c. It does not work on the NVIDIA chipsets.

Both the AMD and NVIDIA chipsets o/c about the same

I can confirm good results on a non-ACC mobo. Got 3.78GHz on an ASUS M2R32-MVP board at 1.45v. The board consists of an RD580 and SB600, and does not even support Phenom II yet.

ACC requires SB7xx chipset. ACC is built into the CPU but can be used, in fact the latest BIOS for my M3A79T deluxe mentions updated ACC for AoD to work with PII CPUs.
