Default EVGA X58 Vreg Temps?

What are people getting for their Vreg temps? What are their overclocks too? I'm getting 92C @ 3.7 folding 24/7.. Is this too high?

it's a bit high, yes...get a fan on there or the board will die an early death.

You can choose the Vreg frequency on that board. From what I've seen, the 800KHz setting would probably be fine for that clock level, and you'll have less heat produced that way.

Yeah, I think I have it at that setting already.

I have the same board and I put a spot-cooling fan on the vreg until I can get the waterblocks put on (which should hopefully be soon!)

With the spot cooler, the vreg is sitting around 65-70.

I like the spot cool idea, I know there are also Peel and Stick Heatsinks you can buy from Swiftech on NCIX that would work good as well, at least in increasing the surface area that can be cooled.

Regards,

Default 72c

I'm around 72 at idle.

I think my issues is due to me a CPU waterblock installed. The fins on the vreg and NB rely on some air being circulated around the case. For now, I rested an Asus vreg cooler on my nb fins and that's got my temps undercontrol there, however I assume my current vreg is still too high for idle.

Is it?
