Default Power problems

Everything on my motherboard works except the ethernet. The motherboard is an asus P5PE-VM. The ethernet worked for maybe an hour after I turned it on this morning but after a restart it stoped!? The light was also on to show the ethernet cable was plugged in but now it doesn't even show up. I am just going to assume this is a power issue. (The power supply is a 450W)

Check your power saving features in OS / Device Manager. Make sure it's not set up to "allow OS to put this device to sleep for power saving".

The device doesn't even show up in the device manager. I tried long and hard to make it show up but it just won't.

If it's not even showing up as an "unknown device" then all you can do is check your bios settings to ensure it's enabled and if that doesn't do it I'd suspect the board is toast. Try a C-Mos reset just to be sure........
