Default new system help

so i built my pc and im about 2 install vista. do i jus turn it on and pop the cd in?

im tryin 2 go into bios but it freezes after a few seconds

1) Why not just keep continuing your last build thread
2) You can edit your previous thread to not need to start a new one
3) How does the bios freeze?

im useing my ps3 browsr and it doesnt display the list. bios just freeze. i move around for a couple of secs but then it freezes. before i entered bios it said hard disk not detected yet its plugged in

ok it says loading files. it almost finishd but froze

Sounds like a possible defective hard drive, do you have another system to test it in? Another possibility would be a problem with the motherboard BIOS or the motherboard itself.

As for the Bios "freezing", your gonna need to explain more to us, as in when and where the "Bios" is freezing.

That being said I've seen motherboards "freeze" during post due to defective drives. When it happens it will appear to do nothing, sometimes it will post after a while, and the defective drive still be accessible. In the case that the defective drive is still accessible, it, in my experience, will cause massive issues, such as corruption, random freezes, etc.

Zippoh, if you have another system, test the HD, see if it causes issues there as well. If not, I'd take a look at your RAM or Mobo, as it may also be an issue there.
