MSI X58 Platinum, anyone use it?
Has anyone used this motherboard in their build? How has it performed?

As much as I love ASUS, if I can get an x58 mobo for ~100$ cheaper than the P6T, I'm gonna have to go for it.

It's definitely one of the nicer X58's, i personally couldn't get over that terrible io panel layout though, that was one factor for me.

Nice board, Have a look at anandtech review to get a feel for it.

Amazing price too.

It is no doubt one great performer, and i love the colour scheme.

"The Eclipse X58 is MSI's current flagship board with the recently introduced Platinum X58 filling a void in the low end X58 market with a $220 price tag. While $220 is an awful lot for a motherboard, it's practically a bargain in this particular market sector. Of course, you give up a few items like SLI compatibility, an additional x16 slot, and the JMicron SATA ports"

There's the difference.

yeah the main reason to get an X58 board is so you can have SLI AND Crossfire.

jak3_dude December 7, 2008 01:00 PM

well, at my screens res of a mere 1050 lines not really...SLI and crossfire are for people with 1600 lines or mutliple displays, lol

I'll have to think about it...
