Default Trouble installing chipset drivers.

Hi, recently I reinstalled windows xp home edition sp2 and need to reinstall all my drivers. When I go to reinstall my chipset drivers it tales me to device manager and opens a dialogue box that tells me to open System Devices then select whatever device I'd like to update and then further instructions from there. The problem is that I don't know what device to select to update. There is a list of about 30 devices such as ram controller and standars host cpu bridge. I have an Hp Pavillion a1610n unmodified except for an upgraded graphics card.

Thanks any help is really appreciated.

This might help: Select software and drivers
Just download the drivers and install them.

Do you have a USB drive? (Thumb or portable) If so, you can find another computer and load up drivers to it, then install it on your computer.

Sorry I realized my last post didnt make much sense so I edited it you'll see i've already done that.

Ok here's my problem, whilst installing my chipset driver, it takes me to device manager and asks me to select what system device I'd like to update, I'm not sure which device to select to update seeing as how there is about 30 devces in the 'System Devices' list

Exactly what software are you trying to install?( the actual name)Since you have a dedicated graphics card, the only drivers you will need to install are the chipset driver, lan driver, and audio driver.

Fall 2006 Original NVIDIA Chipset Drivers

Fall 2006 Original NVIDIA LAN Drivers

Fall 2006 Original Realtek High Definition Audio Drivers

They should install directly. Finally, are you using a recovery disk or an OS disk?
