My System Specs

Default dearth of lga1366 waterblocks

After having a couple of strongbows tonight, I was about to hit the button on the NCIX P6T/i7 920 combo but then I realized I'd need a new waterblock- I thought "surely there's a couple of solutions out there by now- after all- it's the tech-horny nutbars with watercooling setups like me that are buying these things right now"

Alas- I did find the swiftech apogee GTZ adapter but lo! there's a THREE TO SIX week wait for the part- I wonder how many others have been stalled by this problem- what are others doing about it- anyone find a good source for a good 1366 waterblock?

I know it's US but it's a good price.

Swiftech Apogee-GTZ-Ci7 for Intel® Core® i7 Compatibility - $10.95 USD from Sidewinder

lol I nearly did the same thing but didn't want to go through the whole hide and seek thing with an adaptor either. I'm sure there will other great deals though when there are more adaptors about.

you can always make due with something until it comes in...i will be getting the duct tape and 'bits & pieces' bucket out when my i7 setup hits the test bench. here is something i used back when AM2 first came out...worked like a champ. 10 minutes and $0.98 later...

Default no more strongbows for me!

Thanks Ballistx- I ordered that adapter and went for it. Great find- I've never seen that vendor before. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to get here.

I also ordered another hydro copper 16 for a second gtx 260 which is currently in my HTPC (I know, pricey, but I've got one already)- I have 300 bucks in gift cards from future shop to buy a replacement card for my HTPC.

I also ordered a swiftech 220 to put in between my SLI setup and my CPU- going to have tons of cooling on this loop now with a total of 600mm of rad.

I ordered 3X2GB of Patriot extreme viper
NCIX.com - Buy Patriot Extreme Viper PVT36G1600ELK 6GB DDR3 3X2GB DDR3-1600 CL 9-9-9-24 Triple Channel Memory Kit - PVT36G1600ELK In Canada.

I guess I'll finally need to break out that copy of Vista 64 that I've had sitting here for a year.

You've never ordered from Sidewinder? Gary and the gang are a great bunch. They only use USPS, and it takes 3 days from NJ to reach me in Montreal.

Hey charlie- I'm sure you've posted it somewhere around here but can you post a link to your overclocking results for that 920?
