Well.. To be honest I would like to play the game in 1600x1200 with max details and everything set to high.

At the present the game is'nt even playable in 800x600 when there are big armies on the map and this is with a Geforce7800GS.

I have no plans on getting anything better this year. I reckon I will have my next computer setup for at least 5 years once I get my upgrade. So I'm not in a hurry...

That would be my guess, but if it's priced right it might be a winner.

I'm wondering if I have to add Linus to my list of folks who use whiteout on their computer screens.... :)

http://neoseeker.com/news/9293-amd-rumours/

Fudzilla has a couple of tidbits:
  • the lower cost L3-less Deneb quad cores will be based on a new die without L3, not with L3 there but disabled
  • these L3-less qads will be called Athlon X4 600 series (previously shown as Propus on roadmaps)
  • 'Rana' tri-cores will be Athlon X3's
In another story, they say that Phenom II (Deneb) will be a bit faster than Yorktown (Core 2 Quad) processors - at the same clock speed. Given the recent stories about Phenom II overclocking well, Intel will have competition for the mainstream market.

OOO, if this is true... Welcome back AMD :D

More phenom II news

Pricing no-no

The Inq reports that an Australian web store called "Austin Computers" briefly listed the prices for two upcoming Deneb based Phenom II processors on its web site - and removed them in short order.
The two products listed were:
  • $307 Phenom II 920 @ 2.8GHz 2MB L2 + 6MB L3, multiplier locked
  • $347 Phenom II 940 @ 3.0GHz, 2MB L2 + 6MB L3, unlocked
I'd bet that the prices in North America will be lower than that, as the Phenom II will have to compete price wise against the supposedly superior Core i7 from Intel.

http://neoseeker.com/news/9310-pheno...-price-listed/

This is pretty amazing tbh lol, looking at their prices they charge $300 for an e8500, which is $190 in the us and $235 here. If the prices are the same on these cpus we could be looking at a $200 usd UNLOCKED 3ghz quad, which according to the rumours is faster than yorktown clock for clock and ocs to 4ghz+ on air. I just hope the canadian dollar comes back up for the release of these things, i know ill be going with amd on my build based on this info.

Edit: Also noticed that they have the same names as the i7s, could it be that these are meant to compete directly with the i7 920 and 940 and amd is making it easier for the consumer?

So, from what I've read these chips will work on the 790 mobo's?..
