If that is true, I'm not sure whois going to buy ddr3 at 8x the price of ddr2. Maybe you know something I don’t..

Yeah, gotta have some insider info there!

Just like everything it will be expensive at launch and then everything should start averaging out in 3-6 months I would hope. I don't think DDR3 will even be bringing in too many benefits right at launch anyways, but I guess we'll see.

Not since it almost feels like going backwards ;-)

DDR3-800 CL5/6 and DDR3-1066 CL7/8 1GB kits are hard to get excited over. I don't think DDR3 will pick up until late this year, if this year at all.

Sounds very much like the launch of DDRII. The latencies were so high that it actually ended up being a step backwards from DDR.

my board is doing 520MHz FSB on stock voltage so far :) likely can do more but that is my CPU's limit on air.

That's freaking awesome!!!!!!

If DFI doesn't ship some 965-S boards soon, I may have to put aside my aversion to decorator colours and order this board!!! :)

520MHz FSB was pushing my CPUz air limit so i backed down to 500MHz. However it is doing it with 4X1GB of ram, which my P5B-Ds had problems doing that at 400MHz without getting stability issues. Didn't have to change any subtimings or anything.

Do you have a quad core to test the FSB limits on? I'm running a quad core and 4 DIMMs, which makes overclocking quite challenging....
