Well I found that the Asus P6T Deluxe is priced at ~ $305 USD. (A couple of Core i7 motherboards compared - The Tech Report - Page 1)

If try i7 system will not be more expencive than the Q9---, x58 , p45 system.

well in order to switch you would need to buy a $300 mobo, then at the minimum a $300 CPU and then spend atleast $200 on ram, and then a new CPU cooler or mounting bracket. So for around $800 to $1000 is not worth it unlease you are a buisness in like video or picture. I will probably wait till tax return to upgrade

I disagree. All the X58 mobos are enthusiast-level products and are priced exactly in the same price range as the X38 and X48 boards were when they launched.

Some are priced below $400 like the ASUS P6T Deluxe listed for $375 @ Sohodiffusion.

The basic price range for an X58 board here in Canada will be between $325 and $500.

Thanks for the heads up SKYMTL. Even the p6t deluxe comes with a usb lcd screen. I imagine the non-enthusiast boards may even go sub $300.

This is one upgrade I wont be doing anytime soon. It's just too expensive to get anything good.

Surprising...quite a bit cheaper than the QX9770/9775.
