Dam Good by MAC eh.. Nice written review, pretty impressive board really, apart from the power connection clearance on the board, it is nice to see all connectors are free from any obstruction. Actually MAC it was nice of you to go a level higher and test the SATA port connectors, really that's the first thing that came into mind when I saw that board, *pulls hair, what the hek is wrong Gigabyte*. Also the ULTRA 120 fits with no worries, enough clearance to memory and memory having distance to the video card. And overclocking the memory was nice, I do myself have those Crucial Ballistix's, they have been pretty solid so far, I've pushed them way too far and increased voltage on them when I was learning Overclocking in the past, and they thankfully they are still alive, I'm trying to kill them so I can get Mushkin Ascents lol :P Great review MAC..

Small question though: no more CTRL+F1 to access the hidden BIOS settings?

I'm not sure if it a question that can be asked but... Is that mobo going to end up for sale or it went back to mfg or the reviewer is keeping it ![]() My P5K is starting to give me issue and i'm about to pull the trigger on a new mobo Might as well check beforehand.

Great review MAC! I always end up wanting to buy after reading a good review of a product here at HWC. It's definitely my number one source for impartial data on hardware. Thanks a lot!

Nice review! Color schemes are starting to make a little more sense- they almost had it right except for the memory slots. I like the blue theme. I also like the look of the aluminum shields over the nb sb heatsinks, but I would think that the air would get at the cooling fins better without them.

Hi, This is my first post. I'm really enjoying reading the reviews here. Great review on the Gigabyte EP45-UD3P. I also read the reivew on the Gigabyte EP45-DS3R mobo. Can someone tell me what the main difference is (if any) between these two boards. Here's all I could find. not sure why the DS3R costs more. EP45-UD3P: $145, 8 Sata ports, ultra durable 2oz copper on the board EP45-DS3R: $160, 6 Sata ports, |
