Default Best Intel / AMD budget motherboard for ....

Hello Everyone!

This is my first time here. I am a brand new entry in the world of pc enthusiasts and I am hoping to learn alot from this forum.

I am looking for a budget motherboard for either Intel or AMD that can run the 9600GT equivalent / lesser stably without any problems. I am not an overclocker and I donot wish to do so as my knowledge is very limited.

A few components I have picked for my "budget rig" are as follows..

Intel E5200 or AMD X2 5000+ (to run at stock)
Corsair XMS2 2X1GB PC2-6400 DDR2-800 (RAM)
Thermaltake TR2 W0070 430W (Power Supply)

I am undecided on the 9600GT actualy, I might even opt for the 9500GT as I do not play intensive 3g games. Besides, the main "goal" is to get a motherboard that can support the above mentioned components with the videocard(s) mentioned without any problems.

Cheapest, reliable and stable motherboards that can run these cpus without much bios tweaking would be very helpful.

Any offering from Asus or Gigabyte will satisfy your requirement: the P5Q from Asus and the GA-EP43-DS3L from Gigabyte are examples for the Intel side. Sorry, can't help you with the AMD side, since my 3rd rig in my sig is my first ever AMD rig.

I would not go lower than then 9600GT for a video card.

I would change that PSU for the Corsair VX450W. Much better.

And welcome to the forums.

Trust me; you want as a minimum a 9600GT.

It's been running 24/7 for the last 7 days, and the card has been folding. No issues yet.

I haven't played with the BIOS though.

If yo can afford this mobo I would highly recommend as the best low end motherboard.

NCIX.com - Buy Gigabyte EP45-DS3L ATX LGA775 P45 DDR2 PCI-E 2PCI SATA2 HD Sound GBLAN Motherboard - GA-EP45-DS3L In Canada.

then price match to this
Buy Gigabyte EP45-DS3L ATX LGA775 P45 DDR2 PCI-E 2PCI SATA2 HD Sound 2GBLAN Motherboard

When buying any product online I say always go with ncix.com and price match the items using the price compare at the top right corner.

Then if you want the 9600 GT you could get this one for lower cost then retail

WTS: 9600GT OC + Accelero S1

Nope, no idea. Using a 9800GT on that board.
