Default Core 2 Duo Batch Number threads for overclocking

User Tirimisu over at the NCIX forum collected these five threads on which C2D batches to look for or avoid for overclocking- I think I've posted a few of them here at some point, but it's good to have them all in one place. Thanks Tirimisu.

That should be no prob, but it does seem to be becoming more of a crap shoot- four moths ago, it seemed like you were guaranteed 3.6 with an e6600, but not so much now- let us know!

I have the same batch. L646G510. Currently only at 3.2Ghz @ 1.35vcore and 8 hours Orthos blend stable. I haven't bothered going farther because I only have the stock Intel OEM fan and the load temperatures max out at around 57-59 already.

I came across that thread at NCIX as well - After I put in an order for a E6600. Too bad that a poor overclock isn't accepted as a vaild RMA reason. For 99% of the buyers (Dell/Gateway/... bulk box buyers) it makes no difference but the OC is a big part of the decision to buy for the other 1%.
