Default Lowest power C2D ?

I'm in the process to replace a Q6600 in my HTPC with a low power dual-core to lower the bill. I googled around and I have no real idea which one is better so is the E5200 truly use less power than a E21x0 ?

The E2140 is the lowest I'm willing to go so if you have a better suggestion, toss it here :)

I'd think the E7200 or E5200. Both are 45nm so in theory they should use less power than the E2xxx.

Here's a review with the E7200, E5200 and E2220.

X-bit labs - Two New Cut-Offs: Core 2 Duo E7300 and Pentium Dual-Core E5200 Processors

E5200 and E7200 use ~2w less at idle(whoopie), at load, the E2220 uses 13.4w more than the E7200 and 15.5w less than the E5200. Sounds like a winner all-around.

Thanks, that's precisely what I wanted to know and my google-fu failed before I made this thread.

Make sure that video decoding is offloaded to the GPU and then undervolt & underclock whatever CPU you get. 45nm Core arch @ 1.6ghz on ~ 1.0v is barely going to warm up, especially if it's usually idle.
