I might be missing something from the feature list of that monitor, but it doesn't look to be much different compared to this ASUS one. And it's $70 cheaper...

Hacksaw, you are correct. But the reviews I read, before getting mine, indicated that the Alienware was a better monitor. I cant vouch for a comparison as I have only owned the AW. In my case, the $70 dollars is worth the difference. Just cant remember which sites I visited, but those interested in a 3d monitor can certainly google it.

Does the AW have a shiny screen, or is it non-reflective?

I'm in the market for the Asus VG236H, which comes with the nvidia glasses for $480 - so it's much better value.

I wonder how the Asus compares with the Alienware?

The AW screen is non-reflective. The only major complaint against the Asus in reviews seems to be input lag. There are a few sites that review the monitors, but no sites do an Asus vs. AW comparison. The combo price for the Asus looks good. I think you will be happy with either.
