I guess I don't even have to think about pulling the trigger on this...

Since the promotion is with MSI Canada I have emailed my reps there to see if something can be done before this runs its course. IMO, I think it is just a miscommunication since this wouldn't be classified as a contest.

Seriously, why is Quebec always the exception?

Different gambling and contest laws. Very strict rules about language, basically everything needs to be bilangual ... yeah, I don't miss living in Quebec that much!

Actually, no. It doesn't have to be bilingual if the contest is held out of province. The reason the law is in place is to protect residents from fradulent contests. Basically a company has to register any contest where the primary prize value is above $2000 CAD and agree to supply exactly what is described to the winners. If what is agreed on isn't supplied, the winner (a Quebec resident) can report it to the gaming board and they will investigate on the winner's behalf and take the necessary actions.

A few months ago SlugBug won a bunch of stuff from Intel including a i7 965. Intel did not provide him with one and he could have contacted the necessary agency to begin an investigation and press Intel on his behalf. He didn't and was luckily given items of similar value but this just goes to show you that while we may not get every contest, we are well protected unlike the rest of Canada.

MSI's RMA dept. is second to none imho. They are in Canada and are quick with the turnaround time.

Sadly, I had no choice but to go Intel since AMD is not a viable option right now. I eagerly await the upcoming Zen and Polaris offerings.

This promo (and another VERY exciting one that's coming soon) is exclusive to Canada.

MSI has been really focusing on Canada lately and I'm really happy to see it.

I saw a comment about MSI Canada's RMA service and I'm very happy to see that because if you buy from certain retailers who do not buy from MSI Canada, you may NOT use their RMA center. You would have to RMA to MSI US...

Interesting giveaway, but I just can't get excited about the 8400GS. I'd rather they gave away a smaller quantity of an actually useful card. Chances, are if you are buying a brand new mobo, the 8400GS is not on your shopping list.
