Good deal. Any comments or concerns you can share since you have some experience with this unit?

This was the 1st unit of it's kind on the market and started the netbook craze.
The original unit had a 4GB SSD but this one has 8GB.
Besides the screen (7") being a little small I have nothing bad to say about it.
My daugther uses it to chat now.

One other thing worth mentioning is the SSD used in this netbook. Even though it IS a Solid State Drive it is NOT an enthusiast level SSD (not even a 2.5" form factor either!). In fact many people found the HDD version of the EEEPCs to be faster than the SSD equipped ones. Its either chips soldered onto the mobo or a mini-pcie slot "drive".

BUT then again its only two hundred bucks! Still a great deal!

There does not appear to be any sodimm for sale at NCIX. I would guess that's the type required for this thing.

NCIX.com - Canada's Premier Computer Store - Great Technology, Service and Selection.

If I Remember Correctly It uses DDR2-3200 SoDIMM BUT the faster ram shouldn't have any probs going slower. Some of the Corsair Value Select 1gb sticks are under twenty bucks. ;)

I used this Corsair ram to upgrade ...

NCIX.com - Buy Corsair PC2-5300 1GB 1X1GB DDR2-667 200PIN SODIMM Memory - VS1GSDS667D2 In Canada.

BTW I added a 16GB SDHC card and was running Mandriva on it was great success.

I installed EasyPeasy on the SSD about 8 months ago and it's going great!
