But its still a really good price and when newegg lists prices again you could price match.

I'm going to order a 160GB. I read they are even alittle faster then the first gen.

Dear Valued Customer, We were recently informed by Intel that one of their products may have a performance issue. Our records indicate that you purchased this product and Newegg wanted to take a proactive step by informing you of this information and providing the easiest way to resolve the issue. Below is the official response from Intel regarding their Intel G2 Solid-State Drive:

Dear Customer,

We greatly appreciate your recent purchase of the new Intel® 34nm (G2) X25-M High Performance Solid State Drive (SSD). Thank you. This notification is intended to inform you of a potential issue requiring your immediate attention.

Intel has identified an issue which affects users who use BIOS drive passwords with the new Intel SSD. If a BIOS drive password is set on the SSD, removing or changing this password will cause the system to become inoperable as the SSD will lose all data. Intel recommends you do not use BIOS drive passwords with this Intel SSD at this time. There is no issue using a computer, network or operating system password. In the event you have already set a BIOS drive password, do not disable or change the password. Intel has identified a fix for this issue, and will be offering a firmware update on the Intel support website within the next two weeks. Visit Customer Support Contact Information for the latest support information regarding this issue.

We apologize for any inconvenience and truly appreciate your business.

Regards,

Intel Corporation

Newegg strives for a completely satisfying customer experience, which is why we wanted to alert you of this information immediately. If you require any assistance from Newegg, please do not hesitate to contact us.
