The game (XLNT game btw) is entirely playable with a gamepad. I picked up a Logitech Dual Action a couple of years ago $10 just for racing. While not like a Wheel setup, analogue joysticks allow for subtle steering.

I am soooo enjoying this game. It has been a long time since I played a racing sim. I used to just use walls and other cars to help guide me around corners With all the realistic damage on this game I need to change my driving techniques

I am currently just using a joystick to drive it. It's OK but I need to find a wheel.
