I know this may sound elitist but to me a 27" monitor with 1920 x 1200 resolution is the same as a 65" 720P TV. You get a TON of real estate but the picture quality suffers.

i would agree but not everyone can afford a 30" monitor. but you could buy 2 of these and still pay less than my 3007

IMO, they'd be better served by a 24". ;)

Actually, I will take 27" 1920x1200 over 30" 2560x1600 any day. Dot pitch is too small on 30" monitors, can't read small fonts at all.

It really depends on the user.
I find that 30" 2560x1600 looks great (can't afford one though).
To me, standard type on the 27" @ 1920 x 1200 looks big, but on my 25.5, it's right.

Anyone complaining of the picture of this monitor has never used one. It is the perfect size and ratios for my eyes, I miss mine dearly.

Precisely. Pixel pitch is utterly irrelevant if you cannot clearly discern what's on the screen when sitting comfortably on a couch across the room. Larger is better in almost every application.
