Very tempting ...

I have the 701 which my kids use to chat on but has a 800 x 480 screen.

Still on the lookout for a mac mini or a macbook ...

It is indeed very tempting. I'm going to be riding public transport to and from work all summer and all of Moncton's busses are wi-fi.......

Looks like this isn't a sales price, guess I can thing about it for a while.

Not a big deal though.. it's only $20 savings which I don't mind paying for the luxury of not making an impulse buy. (Did one of those last night.... :) ).

Obviously you havnt been to europe.

You can get wi-fi just about everywhere, even while travelling. NA is so behind the times in terms of availability and pricing its disgusting. Sure, Canada is large, but there is no reason that everything south of North Bay/Sudbury shouldnt have the equivalent of FiOS service.

Also, regarding pricing; Last I remember reading, Sweden was pulling in 10Mbps/512Kbps service for the equivalent of 18-20 USD a month. Compare that with you cable internet users out there who are paying, what? 60+ a month? And that was when the US dollar was strong. I would imagine its even cheaper with how weak the USD is now.

4GB SSD kills the deal imo. You can't really do much with 4GB.

Wi-Fi on a bus...man that's awesome. Why isn't Toronto like this? Did they even add that Wi-Fi thing in downtown Toronto that they were talking about? Or am I thinking about something else...

Yeah. I did some looking into it. It got canned after going for private contract bidding. The city wasnt willing to absorb the cost after the contracts came back with pricing.

There is a private company that you can get free wifi around Toronto. Google it. You have to sign up and jump thru some hoops, but it does exist. Not sure how the service is, I havnt used it. Its easier to just walk into a starbucks/mcD's or any other coffee shop that provides Wi-fi (read: All coffee shops) then use the 3rd party program that might be monitoring my usage, etc etc.
