Default Cosmos S - $225.99 @ NewEgg.ca - price match opportunity?

Noticed a few folks including myself looking for Cosmos S cases..

Just an FYI.. spotted it at $225.99 today at NewEgg.ca. Shipping is a deal breaker at $40+ but maybe a good price match opportunity..

Got a price match for a pair of them with free shipping from NCIX.. bought a bunch of other stuff too.

Saved the PST too since I'm in Ontario.. wonder how this new HST thing will affect cross province shipping.

** There's currently a NCIX promotion from May 27 - June 2 that includes free ground shipping up to 150 pounds with the purchase of a $10 gift card. I got NCIX to price match two Cosmos S for $225.99 each and free shipping with a gift card so it shouldn't be an issue.

You'll end up paying as if it were purchased in your own province. That's how it works down east where we already have the HST.

Though less opportunities for consumers to save, it technically helps even the playing field in certain cases. If I were running a business within Ontario - hate to lose business to out of Province competition due to my own provincial taxes.

Guess Ontarian's have until July 2010 to take advantage...

People here aren't losing my business because of PST, they are losing my business because their prices just suck, the selection is lousy, and the service is terrible. Adding HST has nothing to do with protecting small businesses in Ontario, it's just the province trying to get money that they in NO WAY earned. If they are so dead set on charging PST, then I would prefer that the money earned from my NCIX purchase tax dollars would go to British Columbia. It's only fair.

I'm with S_G. I get better service from NCIX in B.C. than I do in ON.
Even my limited experience with Newegg on a defective product was prompt and professional.
If I got professional service in ON, I wouldn't bother with the delay of shipping just for the P.S.T.

If only TigerDirect had a decent selection and reasonable prices like on NCIX or Newegg.ca

I would be shopping there more... but its their fault for being such poor value. The only pro I can think of is that occasionally they DO have a deal on that is legitimately good... and shipping is pretty quick too.

Don't like Canada Computers? I haven't had any issues with them though I can't say I've had to return anything. I hate TigerDirect myself. So much low-end stuff and refurbished items.

Personally, if there's no significant price difference, I would rather just buy local than worry about shipping and related issues.

Hoping NCIX and other Canadian businesses based outside of Ontario will have a bunch of free shipping promotions before the start of HST in Ontario :)
