Is that really a good price? I only paid ~$220 on release day which was over a year ago. You would think they'd drop more than that in over a year.

They hover at $200 right now the cheapest ive seen, but NCIX usualy has them for $250... The price went up on them a few months after their release, apparently they got to popular for their own good.

and the reason behind the pricing is amd has nothing to go against it ( keeping the 80XX series high priced demand is everything ) still good price i think

AMD has the X3 720BE thats a direct compeditor at a lower price point, $189 seems about right for this CPU now, anything over $200 and their killing themselves.

I thought about it to when I built my new system, but I wanted SLI and when the AM3 platform came out the SLI amd boards where impossible to find >.< and expensive.

the x3 720 will do 4ghz pretty commonly, Ive seen it hit 4.2ghz on a few sites, their pretty beafy little CPUs for the price.
