gaming cases

i want to build a comp and my first step is a case. i want to get a really nice good quality and good looking case (with that WOW when you walk in the room feeling look to it) with great cooling and some nice features.


price = under 100 - 200$

It is pretty hard to get a "bad" case. The old adage about getting what you pay for is mostly true. Unless you have your heart set on certain special components like a certain radiator or drive cage that might have compatibility I would suggest you just page through the pictures on ncix or canadacomputers or your favorite vendor. Only you can judge what you like.

I like the Antec 1200.

to me none of those are gaming cases.

To me a gaming case is one that isn't flashy and allows for GOOD air cooling.

any case not listed is pretty much Tier 3, crap.

Couldn't agree more! I love my Cooler Master Cosmos 1000. Its anything but flashy, no side windows, etc. It has a lot of room for good air cooling and watercooling if one decides to upgrade to WC. Only downside is the case is made from metal so it is a lot heavier than its successor the Cosmos S. Another good thing too about the Cosmos series is the side panels etc are interchangeable. So if you have the Cosmos 1000 or 1010 and wanted to get the Cosmos S side panel with the 200mm fan, it will fit on the Cosmos 1000 or 1010.

Personally, if you can wait and save up, I would get the Lian Li PC-P80 Lian Li Industrial Co., Ltd. I think its very well designed and it has a a bit of flash on the front with the 3 led fans. IMHO it has a WOW factor because not a lot of people are willing to spend $400 for a case and its sharp looking. And the led fans come with it. If I would have known about the Lian Li PC-P80, I would have bought it over the Cosmos 1000.

But everyone is different, thats just my 2 cents.

Except the PC-P80 is going to be like $400 which is far above and beyond that of a practical pricing for a case.

I can only imagine what the Lian Li TYR PC-X2000 is going to cost when its available. I'm guessing close to $500

I like the NZXT Tempest, I really thought NZXT got there act together but apparently not. they released this yesterday :(

the Tempest has alot of value for it's price range it can mount 3 or 4 (maybe more, check with case modders) radiators, esata port, fan filters, cable management, 2 hard drive cages total 8 hard drives, liquid cooling grommets, 6 fans. and it's surprisingly spacious inside.

Some people here are forgetting about Mountain Mods cases. The MM H2GO, U2-UFO, and the Ascension kick arse!

These are not gaming cases.

These are for people who want a large case to accommodate either a lot of hardware or a watercooling setup.
