Default EATX Case suggestions

Work wants me to transfer a current PC into a new quiet case as the PC is being relocated into a vehicle and will be close to the driver for long periods of time. The current setup gave him a headache due to the high pitched whine of 8x80mm fans.

The motherboard is quite large and may restrict some cases, the NZXT H630 is out, which is a shame as I liked it.

Hardware to be transferred.

EATX is typically only 1" bigger than ATX (along the edge closest to the front of the case), most full tower cases will physically fit the board.

What's the priority, silence over airflow?

Silence is the priority, it would be nice to replace the heatsinks for the CPU's too but I dont think we have the space due to the VGA card.

It is not an E-ATX case according to the specs.

Motherboard Support XL-ATX [13.6” x 10.3” (345 mm x 262 mm)], Standard ATX, microATX, Mini-ITX

Am I missing something?

Sorry, I'm used to enthusiast E-ATX boards like the Classifieds and Rampages. They are usually only 1.5 inches bigger than ATX, unlike that server board.

For reference:
Size Width Height Official Standard
Mini ITX 6.7 in 6.7 in Yes
Micro ATX 9.6 in 9.6 in Yes
ATX 9.6 in 12 in Yes
E-ATX 13 in 12 in Yes
SSI EEB 13 in 12 in Yes
XL-ATX 10.3 in 13.5 in No
HPTX 15 in 13.6 in No

You are correct, the P280 case I suggested doesn't list E-ATX as supported.

However, it will support graphics cards up to 13.8" in length, so the board will fit physically. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...50,3325-3.html

I measured my Air 540, there's just under 14" of clearance so it would fit in that, if you relax your no window rule.

The Cosmos would fit it as it fits SSI-EEB size, and they are a pretty sturdy case.

I agree , My older Gigabyte aurora3d case was able to host my Asus 2p server board without any modding there was only 2 mounts missing
