My System Specs

Default E-ATX Board and Compatible Case

Hi all
Looking at finding my family a member a "reasonably" priced Case with good Air Cooling for:
- E-ATX Evga Classified Mobo
- SLi capable
- HSF - TRUE push / pull

Anyone know whether the Coolermaster CM 690 II Advanced can handle an E-ATX Board? I have used this Case on a couple of builds and find it a very good "bang for buck" Case ?

No suggestions for Coolermaster HAF please or any Cases that look like they belong to a 15 yr old (you know..the "Space age Star Wars look)

Cheers

The Classified isn't really EATX. It is just slightly too wide to be considered ATX. It looks like the board would physically fit in the CM690II but the board would overhang those cable management holes. Plus you'd need to tap a few holes for motherboard stands more than likely.

^^^ Ok thanks..any thoughts on this Fractal Case..seems to look like it may fit the bill (very good price)...would be ice if it could take a 100i mounted up top..say either 2 x 140mm or 2 x 120mm up top, which leads me to believe a H100i or even H110 would fit up top...

Go for that case. Hold off for a bit and I will sell you mine for a good price when the NZXT H630 comes out. I have the original box but only one original fan and a phanteks fan plus other fans that I can bundle. Let me know if you are interested.

I have the EVGA Z77 FTW E ATX board and its like Lowfat said, its not really e atx just a lil longer than atx. It fits perfectly in my Antec P280, which IMO is a very capable (super) mid tower case w/o any bling.

Looks like the Fractal I linked above is a winner, good looking cooling, the Classified 759 Board and H100i would fit fine.

Sorry Hero1, I only go "new" with Cases.

Cheers

^ +1, planning on moving to an Fractal R4 case for a new build soon. Good pricing and pretty good quality as well. Don't know how I justified paying $230 for an FT02 a few years back haha...

I like the r4, but it's not even in the ballpark with the ft02.

Price-wise and overall build quality I agree but TBH I wasn't too impressed in the 2 years I had the FT02.

Cable management was a pain, especially for the hard drives and any 5.25" bay devices which you'll probably need to buy extensions for. The top mesh panel was also a constant nuisance to remove if you want to plug or remove devices and really contributes to the wear and tear of the case.

There are a bunch of other minor annoyances I won't get into but looking back I would have went with a different (and cheaper) case. Just my .02 cents anyway :)
