Kent building supplies here in HFX has sheets of acrylic / Lexan in various thickness' so you'd probably be able to find it in Fredricton.

While we're on the topic of hard to find modding materials.........

Don't remember if I've asked about it here or not.... does anybody know where I can find rubber seal for flush mount case windows?

I've found one place on-line but they want $6 / foot and I'm going to need at least 5 ft. (If it's going to cost that much I'll go the less aesthetic route and use rivets.... :) ).

The only place I found in Canada was Bigfoot they priced from 4.50 to 6 depending on style.

Yeah, that's the site I found as well.

I've called every possible local supplier with no luck.

I even had a link to a site that made extruded rubber to your specs and considered finding out how much they'd charge for a run of 100 ft. :)

What I had in mind was going to take 5-6 ft of the stuff so adding in the cost of the lexan it was going to come in around $70 bucks... that's a lot of coin for a vanity window..... :)

I'm headed to princess auto in Moncton tommorrow on the way to the Mirimichi to look for some acrylic and other hardware- I'll have a look there- if it's cheap, I'll get some for ya- is it black c-strip that you're looking for? what gauge?

They have everything there- you could build a hydraulic Tyranosauras Rex with parts off the shelf if you wanted (and don't we all?).

Why not pass by the Kent store in Saint John. There is a Home Depot right next to it if you don't find anything at Kent's.

Saint John isn't on the way-- I'm sure I can find it in Moncton (I dig your S.J. savvy though!).

If you have a look at the link provided by cdn_Madrach you'll see what I'm looking for. (It's not the c molding, but is instead the other stuff... :) ).

I've called princess auto here in hfx and they claimed that they didn't carry anything like it, but I should probably take a trip out. (If you see any on your travels, just let me know and I'll deal with the folks here).

I've even considered getting two different gauge hose, slitting them down the middle and stitching them together. :)

Tried them all....... :)

I spent a couple of days going through the yellow pages looking for any business that might carry it.

I don't for the life of me know why it's not readily available. I would have thought that automotive suppliers would have something like it for older pick-ups and the like.

I was thinking that it would be used for replacement windows for rv's and camping trailers windows. Where they would be lexan and not glass.
