New Case Recommendations
 
Well my Armour is starting to get a bit cramped so I thought I would get some ideas on a new case.
I would like to keep the water internal so here is the list :
PA120.2 rad
Micro res
mcc655 pump
4 hdd currently, want to drop in another Array, this is kinda the kicker and why I am running out of room, my rad is up front so all the bays are taken.

The rest is standard stuff other than a Accelro S1.

I thought about ditching my 5.25 dvd and modding a slimdvd burner but that would only gain me 1 more 5.25 and I need 2 for another Array.

Any and all suggestions welcome.

Cosmos -S :)

You can slap a 240 rad into the cosmos 1000 but it will only be supported by 4 screws (1 fan) and if you want to do a Push-Pull you may have issues with clearance on "Big A$$ Full Board Heatpipe" motherboards like the DQ6 or Maximus.

I'm working on a Cosmos 1000 build right now, and as it is I've got 2 fans up top pulling (one is slightly off center) and only one pushing from the bottom.

Might fit the bill Steve.

I am in a push/pull configuration right now and would like to keep it but if I had to drop to 3 or even 2 I could go with better fans, they are just yates right now anyways.

Like those hdd bays but:

When it arrives could you have a look and see how a PA120.2 would fit on the top? As you know they are bit bigger than the standard 240.

A solid door has been growing on me for awhile now but I do like to be able to see inside and make sure everything is spinning. :)

I've just finished the great majority of the build, so I can give you what fit...... :)

I've got a 240 "res included" swiftech in there with no problems other than the Heatsink preventing installation of the aft lower fan. Those rads are extra long so length shouldn't be a problem.

Is your rad deeper as well, or is it wider? (I've got 3/4" clearance from the bottom of the rad to the edge of the motherboard, and the fan has a 1" clearance from the motherboard tray so you can factor in the height of your stand-offs and your motherboard components to figure out clearance.

I was going to suggest the TJ07....It is a killer case, and if I didnt have my TJ09, it would be my next choice.

Question for you sswilson, the resRad..... Is it going to work when mounted horizontally like that? To keep bubbles from flowing through the system I would think it must be mounted vertically.... I have installed 2 such Rads, and I don't know how it can work horizontally. Did you just fill it to the very top and hope there is no more air in the loop?

What about hunting down a Lian Li PC-G70 or something? I bet that would do. ;)

The PC-G70 has got to be the case I most want out of _every_ _single_ case that I can recall seeing. Imo it is unmatched in design. ..with exception of the external "front panel" ports being on the top, that sucks.
In the end it adds up to be the next case I want to go for even if it is second hand.(still treated decently though)

The instructions show it being filled right to the top, so that's what I intend.

I have the same concerns as you though so we'll see how well it works. I'm also using an Apogee Drive so if there are any bubbles in the system I'll know it from the noise of the pump and go at it a different way.
