Front USB 3 solution
Early cases with usb 3 front headers got some funky way of using them by connecting cables at the back of the case. In my example, and since I own one, the HAF-X needs that and the only way I found of hiding those cables was to reroute the cables to a loose rear usb 3 card/connector that came with my P8P67-PRO. I then hid that card"/connector behind the PSU cable hidding gizmo that came with the case.
To all of those who have/had the same problem, here is something that will allow you to hide the cables behind the second side panel (rear mobo).
2 Ports USB 3.0 Female to Motherboard 20-Pin Male Super-Speed Cable Converter | eBay
I've searched a lot and didn't found any other solution that would work better that this. I will order it soon and will probably post pics when it's done.
Note: Please ensure your usb3 headers cable are not soldered like in most recent HAF-X cases.
These are great idea- I wonder if any speed is sacrificed - I have read some complaints about similar adapters being diificult to keep plugged into the motherboard. Let us know how it works when it's installed.
I've been after one of these too.
Typically they come with a new case.......My Lian-li pca77f did'nt tho.
Now if only someone will make off-the-shelf 1,4,7 sli bridges.
I would hope that plug would have a molex on the mobo with a clip. Short sightedness if not.
- Quick update -
I ordered the part just a few minutes ago from NCIX. Here is the link.
Bitfenix Internal USB3.0 Adapter Cable for Standard MALE-A USB3.0 Connectors With 2 FEMALE-A USB3.0 - BitFenix - BFA-U3-KU3IU3-RP
I declined shipping insurance since it costs less than 100$ and used Canada Post XpressPost (cheapest). Finding an adapter on NCIX was good news for me since the other options was only from US or other foreign locations. That way I can avoid customs. I think only 2 companies make those, the other being Silverstone.
Shipped to Quebec, it cost 17.83$. Yeah shipping is a *****.
As soon as I have it, I will post my review and maybe a nice little how-to/tutorial.
The first one is a nice fan controller, but I don't see how it touches this issue :haha:
The second link is indeed the Silverstone I was talking about.
For your first link, I guess what you really wanted to show us is the SST-EC03B. I've searched it and it is a nice front bay USB3 solution. My goal however is to use my HAF-X front USB 3 header already in place.
sorry my Bad :(
I received it about an hour and a half ago. I took time to eat and to get prepared and ended up making this post.
Quick summary: Very good item, easy to use. Get one!
