Default Yet another powdering coating topic..

Ok well.. I'm about to get my Lian-Li PCA70 case. Does anyone know anywhere in BC/Canada where they do powdering coating with all the prep work? I just want to send them the case. How much would it cost roughly?

Thanks

- Sashi

I know of a few shops that have done some things for me and friends. Might be worth calling one them to see if they'll do it, or know someone who will.

Advance Powder Coating in Burnaby (Car Rims)
Rainbow Powder Coating in Coquitlam (Bike Frame)
Superior Powder Coatings in North Van (Bike Frame)

Rims were done last year, bike frames were like 3-4 years ago. Hope that is at least some direction.

Thanks,

Since those are bike powder coating services, would they know how to "prep" a full tower case?

You don't do prep w/ power coating. They can throw silicon plugs in the screw holes but it isn't needed. You can always just push a screw threw anyways. Getting them to add plugs is going to add a whole lot of labour though.

As for costs every place is different. I would say around $50 - $75 for an interior is normal though. Maybe twice that for a full case if you were doing it in a single colour.

Oh? so they don't HAVE to prep for a Powder Coat? Would it be better to prep/worth the cost for labour? Yea I want everything black, although the outside is already, so just the inside..

Thanks

No prep required, other than disassembly. Flat black is way better than gloss or semi-gloss, doesn't show the dust. And I've used Hi-Pro Coatings out of Langley before.

Sashi, please post a pic after you've had the power coating done. I'd love to see the results.

I know nothing about the procedure, so I'm a little intrigued.

thx!

Well, if you're interested here's the Cosmos S I had done:

And my TJ-07 before and after:

Powder coating is much more scratch resistant than painting. I've painted cases/parts before, I won't do it again unless I can't get the color I like.
