Default Cooler Master Elite 430 ATX Case Review Comment Thread

Normally, we don't have very high expectations for enclosures that have sub-$100 prices but Cooler Master's new Elite 430 seems to have most higher-end cases from a features and design perspective. Let's hope it can follow through because the potential is definitely there....

I bet if you took the sides from the 300 they would fit onto this case :P

and you'd have a nice Antec 300 hybrid with a black interior.

Oh.. right.. not a fan of this case.

So I enjoyed this article but I was surprised to see such great cooling results from a case that only has one intake fan. I then read the testing methodology and saw that you yank the front fan and install two NF-P12s. I don't feel that this is very realistic, since I can't see people who spend 60 dollars on a case dropping 40 dollars on two case fans.

finally, he mentioned it months ago!

expectations for a 40 something dollar case that can fit big cards are high, at least in my opinion :)

lets see...

edit : nice. the only thing that bothers me is the clear window thing. any chance we can get it with a regular door, i.e. no window?

between this and the cheap lianli or even better the 50 dollar PS05B id go for the others if i wasnt using a long card.

edit 3. my mistake. the ps04 can accomodate largest cards, while ps05 cant? hmmmmmmmmmmmm<<<

I don't know if it's as good as this cooler master, but in my opinion the NZXT Gamma is a great budget case as well. The best part of the Gamma though is that even though it's retail price is 49.99, it always seems to be on some form of discount. I think I got it for like 35 after mail in rebate, a few weeks later on Boxing day, it was 10 bucks! I bought it for my brother a few backs for 25$ (although i made a mess up and couldn't collect the MIR, lol) after mail in rebate. If anyone is interested in a budget case, give it a look. Oh, and does anyone want me to try and write a review for it?

Nice case but it would be nice if there was an even cheaper version with no window. I don't see all that many people buying cheap cases only to pimp it out with lights and such.

Cheap bling! I can see all kinds of system builders (read corner store) putting together cheap gaming rigs with puny GFX cards but a nice window to lure pplz into thinking they bought the ultimate gaming machine!

Of course, on an "enthusiast" site like HWC we know a LOT better!

Dude, people buy cheap honda civics - throw acura parts in it, lower it.. throw a loud ass sewer pipe on it, put a stereo worth more than the car, and go as far as put acura badging on it (or de-badge it). They sure as heck-fire will do this with cheap cases.. I see it all the time.

As for looks, I still like the look and style of the Antec 300. It is simple, and looks nice to me for a $50 case.
