Default Comment Thread for Cooler Master 690 II Advanced Video Review

Cooler Master has really found a sweet spot in the market with their current crop of enclosures. Their products usually offer a perfect mix of functionality, understated design elements and features while being easy on your pocketbook. Their original CM 690 heralded in what could arguably be called a golden age for Cooler Master and they are now releasing the follow-up CM 690 II. In this review we take a look at the Advanced Edition of this case to see if it can live up to the high expectations we have for it.

You can find the review here: Cooler Master 690 II Advanced Video Review

ENJOY!!!

Updated. Please excuse the low quality video. The HQ and HD videos are being processed as we speak.

Suweeeettttt!!!!!!!!

Great looking case for the price!!!

Even answered my question about removal of the lower HD trays for WC, and love the inclusion of a 2.5" HDD adapter for SSDs. On a personal note.... I'm not going to miss the old style HDD clamps. They always felt kinda cheezy to me, and I hated how easy it was to lose the springs if you removed them.

Its so true though! The case really is just a housing for a whole crapload of fans.... not that that is a bad thing!

If I get a chance I would actually like to revisit the case in the future and see the actual temperature benefits and noise pollution generated by filling up fan spots.

Default One question

Great video review as always!

What is the "extra expansion slot" on the back for? Is it for the video card support bracket?

First off...

Nice review. Good clear voice audio. Love the mood music and FiXT, was that a mechanical pencil or a pen?

As for the case, it seems to have kept all the things I love about my CM690 and properly addressed the things that I had always disliked. Gone is the motherboard tray "lip" that limits space between the side panel and the tray, newly increased fan sizes on some of the stock fan placements (which will reduce noise), a VERY sweet removable drive bay panel for either better airflow, fan or rad placement, a bit more space up top to tinker with, better button placements and finally, better cable management options.

All in all, I would say that this case is definitely a WIN for Coolermaster.

Now, I can't wait to try and convince my wife to let me buy a case that will essentially look identical to the one I already have! LOL Ah well... c'est la vie.

Cheers!
CM690_Canuck :)

ps: My guess for that vertical slot would be for switch or IO placement, but I might be wrong.
