My System Specs

Default Cooler Master Sileo 500

I'm thinking of getting one. Any one is using it and wants to share his thoughts on this case?

I need silent case, if anything is better, please advise.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have it but the airflow in the case is really poor, only 1 120 at the rear? so it will make noise because the air will get in by every single hole. If you are searching for a silent case Antec P183 is a hard to beat...seriously...It's some more expensive but great airflow and you can controll fan speed with some switch on the back of the case wich can be move fast and good. That's for this years my silence killing product.

I can't comment on the Sileo either, but like martin said, I find my P183 is fairly silent with fans set to medium. Your best bet tho would be to check silentpcreview.com

+1 to kilauea, they have all the equipement to test case in a acoustic room so if there is a good place to find out about it, there it is. I have one question, what is your budget about that case? Is it about 90$ or you can go on more if really needed? Because one of the secret for silenec is airflow, smooth airflow with no grill of filter to make turbulence. Good fan also help, put in some low speed yate loon or noctua( 1400 RPM max ) with a fan controller there is the secret. Don't do like me and put 7 fan in a huge case ;).

If you need more advise or have any question, ask and it will be a pleasure;)

I agree with others and their suggestion to hop over to spcr. Also, a quiet case doesn't always necessarily mean loud components will suddenly become quieter. A really nice case like the Pseries antecs will dampen out noise but if you have loud hardware, theres only so much it can do so choose your hardware wisely

for your hardware, probably not the best case to go
anybody else notice the oem design is the same as the nzxt apollo and others (the steel chassis)?
another +1 for antec p182/p183
or some lian li cases

I also agree...

P182 used if you can find one or P183 brand new either one will be silent obviously you'll get the benefits of the better design if you go with the Antec P183. Just keep in the mind that Antec fans are pretty cheap, save up some cash and later on pick up some better qaulity fans.

Regards,

EE

Thinking about this again, I'd just get a set of decent heatsinks for your cpu and gpu with quiet fans in your scenario. It would help quiet your rig up a lot more than getting a case that can only dampen out some of the noise and it would be cheaper too.

Wow and when I bought my P183 I thought I shouldn't say it too loud because I really liked the case and felt like it wasn't shared. All this love for this case. And btw, I must say its very nice online, but its gorgeous in real.

It is true the tri-cool fans aren't the best, but they provide more airflow than noctuas and yate loons. In my case, I find they are fine.

As for the other parts you will put in the case. I have an XFX 4890 GPU which isn't exactly quiet, but what I did was to severly under clock it for when it was not needed which meant I could lower the fan and still get lower temps. When I game, I use another setting and voila its overlocked, of course, with it comes increased noise, but games usually cover them pretty well.
