Thumbs down

K... guess I've been spoiled over the past couple of years with Modular PSU's... so it was kind of a shock to see the mess of cabling with the included PSU... but anyhow I do have one question...

How does one connect the rear fan with the female end to any of the female ends coming from the PSU? Seriously... there has to be a male plug somewhere in here... right ???

Midnight, rig almost together and ... can't figure out why there are no male connectors on the PSU. Worst part... small town and will likely have to order one via the internet... why Antec, please tell me why?

Dumbest thing I have seen with a case yet... when their fan will not hook up to their power supply...

Are you sure you weren't looking at the wrong end of the plug? Tri-cool fans have double ended plugs so you can stack them on a single molex connector.

Does someone know how high the cpu-fan can be? Or if I can fit a 'Zalman CNPS9700 LED' into the case?

You've definitely got 16cm to play with, measuring from the top of the processor. Maybe 17, but the door latch is slightly over the CPU socket area, and might interfere.

Thanks, for the fast answer
I think I can stick the Zalmann into it, as it is 'only' 14.2cm high.

Thumbs down 3.5 inch drive bay problem

I am amazed that no one on the web has pointed out a major defect in the Sonata III reviews. The two external 3.5 inch drive bays can not accept any HDD. The only item you can install is Floppy disk drive.

No one installs floppy disk drives these days and for Antec to expect that its buyers will install 2 FDD's is insane.

I have many other cases, including many from Antec. This is the first one I have come across that .... Shock me...... expects that customers will NEED to install 2 FDD's.

Of the top of my head, besides FDD's (still used for BIOS flashing, remember), other possible options include, card readers, fan controllers, Firewire ports, audio drivers, watercooling reservoirs, and rocker switch panels. Probably other more unique options if you look hard enough.
