Yeah as long as you run 1-2 optical drives only and run the hard drive cage right under the bottom optical drive you should have plenty of room in a 590 for video cards, actually even with the cage at the bottom youd probubly have enough room for a long single GPU. Its pretty much the same chasis as the 690 but the drive mounting system is completely different, more like the 902/1200, you could probubly fit a 2x 120mm rad in the space bellow the HDD cage if you only had 1 optical drive in it as well. Its just a really versitile case for the price point.

Only thing that would have been nice is that bottom mounted fan slot like the CM 690 has, really helps to get more air flow to the graphics cards and motherboard. Also if you like windowed side panels CM makes a pre installed windowed side panel, its $28 but does come with an extra blue LED fan pre installed, when I bought it I got it for $22 so it was a better deal for me.

Replacement Window Side Panel for Coolermaster CM 690 Computer Case - Replaces Non Windowed One - DirectCanada

But it does look good on these cases. It says CM-690 but im 98% certain it fits the 590 as well, same side panels are used on both cases.

I used to own a Sonata III, great case, as for airflow it did an awesome job at it. the case temp were in the 36C hard drive a little warm 33C-34C but i had 3 slots filled. at idle the case is whisper quiet, the only thing one heard was the 9800gt's fan screaming during game play, as enab mention the SIII and solo series should be the same, so i guess the solo has the hard drive noise reduction thingys too.

as for the EA500W it does a great job, the exhaust air is not even hot with the following setup;

p5q pro
E2180 @ 3.0ghz 1.3375V
OCZ pc6400 @ 1002mhz 2.2V
WD640 cavier SE, WD 250IDE, WD 1tb black
BFG 9800gt
samsung dvd rw drive
1 38mm sythe rear fan 44cfm/20dba, front coolermaster blue led fan 42cfm/22dba

one time i even had the PSU powering a ati x1650pro

one of the things i hate about the Sonata III is the front door and the case + PSU wights like 25LBs

the solo seems like a great choice. go for the solo

as for the CM690/590, someone mentions to me as i was picking my first build, after much research the CM690/590 series weight the same as the antec sonata III with the psu, and that case is really for someone who opens there PC case every few days for upgrades and such. And its about 5 inches longer and 4inches higher

if you don't ever touch your PC's inside unless its for spring cleaning then the solo is for you

The 5 inches longer 4 inches higher is one of the reasons for the increase in weight, its also the reason I bought the case over others... more room for full sized cards. but my CM-690 fully loaded isnt heavy at all, I wouldnt have any trouble hucking it into my car and going to a lan with it. Although I deffinetly would prefer the new storm scout for lan parties.
