Default Powdercoat or Paint?

:help:
I'm having a crisis, in a few months I want to paint the interior of my case to a nice matte black but for a few "accent" details and the watercooling. I can't really decide which will look nicer, just plain old spray painting or powdercoating?

If I DO go with a powdercoat, does anyone know of a location near Ottawa that does it? I found one out in Stittsville but when I emailed them to ask about the services I never got a reply so....

Any help appreciated!

Powdercoat IMO.

I painted the inside of mine, ended up knowing a powdercoater and never put 2 and 2 together, and wish I had gotten it powdercoated.

Yeah it looks like the results are a LOT better, finding a place that actually will do it locally looks like it could be a problem though, I don't really like the idea of having to ship my case around, though I may if necessary.

So: Powder coating in Ottawa preferred, if not, in the Ottawa-Toronto area or Montreal as I can always drive there and use it as an excuse to see family:).

Paint just isn't durable enough, it will scratch easily then look like poo. As long as you can find someone who does quality powder coating, then I would definitely suggest you get it done if you can afford to. I unfortunately have had hit and miss experience up here. First case was amazing, 2nd was ok, third looked like dung which is why it sits in my closet unfinished.

I was surprised to see how many places powdercoat- in wee little fredericton, there are two places that I know of- maybe more.

I'd rather leave it 'au naturale' than spray paint it with tremclad.

Powdercoating would be so nice...

I'm sure it costs more than I'm comfortable with paying, though. I'll stick with a spray can, and re-do it later if I ever need to.

Heyyyy, wait a minute, aren't you building like a $10,000 supercomputer or something? What's a couple hundred dollars for powder coating????
LOL

The end results from powder coating are 10 times more durable than paint, and you'd be surprised how easily paint gets scratched inside a case....

Your best bet is to check your local yellow pages, and just take your case down.

I got all the inside parts of my Cosmos S done for $50 plus tax. If you do a complete teardown/disassemble it's usually cheaper.

I've done paint, and I've done powdercoat, and I'll NEVER do paint again.

How much would it cost to powdercoat the interior of a full tower?
