Well, I might as well bump this from the dead too. My antec 300 was fine at home but when I moved into rez, dust has become a major problem, opened it up a month ago to find my case PACKED with dust and the odd dust balls too. Sealed up the side panel and its doing fine so far. To give an idea of how much dust there is in my rez, in one day you can see a layer of dust on the washroom countertop or toilet seat :O. Absolutely disgusting

Yeah dust is a pretty big problem they should have not gave us a side vent/put a filter on it too, however covering it up hasn't effected my airflow too bad and I even have a vid card. I run:

AMD phenom ii 3.1gz dual
ati 4850
4gb ddr3

With the side covered up, one rosewill $5 fan put in the front, and antec back and top fan set to low it keeps my system very cool. The loudest thing is the stock cooler for the CPU, gets pretty loud.

I have been thinking about mounting a shroud on the vent and stretching some pantyhose over it secured via fat rubber band. Also, for the small cracks between the shroud and case, I plan on fashioning a gasket with electrical tape or something similar.

Cool Side fan used.

Every fan I've added to my 300, caused a 7 degree Celcius drop in temp. Back and top fans set to low. Noticed side fan lowered my GPU temp 4 degrees Celcius aswell.
