My System Specs

Default Mattlefs Tagan Black Pearl build

Hey guys
I wanted to do a worklog, but I was too pumped to get everything together that I said screw it. Here's the almost finished Aircooled product. I'm getting some 4850's (ICEQ's) as soon as I get paid lol :D then she will be complete.

All Black and Blue

Looks good. I've been contemplating this case for awhile now but the inverted motherboard has prevented me from going through with it. Do you find GPU temps tend to be high? That's been my main concern.

Also, what is your fan config? Is the HDT's fan pushing or pulling? I think it would seem more logical to turn it 180 degrees and have it directing hot air @ the rear exhaust fan?

The HDT's pushing the air through, to the exhaust fan,
Temps are actually good,
GPU at 42C idle, 60's on load.
CPU is at 38idle and 58-60on load

I have the two top fans as an intake as well, cooling the card....

Edit---
Shit, I just realized that if I got crossfire, it might have to be with single slot cards, theres not much room with the p5q-e.... asus didnt really think this one out i think....
I might be able to squeeze a 2slot card (the ICEQ4's) in there but maybe...

Should I keep the top fans as intake in that case?

When I look at the case I am always thinking the pics are backwards and upside down! It is such a different kind of install, hard to fault Asus for their slot placement, if anything the case should be a bit taller to take into account the possible installation of a dual card set... Looks very tight at the top of the case.

True, its gonna be tight with a Dual card set.... makes me wonder if it would even be worth it to try, because then the top intake fans would be useless.... A single card would be good, but the cooling would suffer, so its a pick your poison type of situation.

Yah this case isn't designed for dual cards of double height.

You really start to run into space constrictions, otherwise its a great case.

yea, I think I might be forced to go with the regular 1 slot 4850's... which isn't that big of a deal, really... however, the concern I have is fan speed, these cards run insanely hot, and in crossfire, I wonder if I'll be able to bump up the speed to around 70%....
Will it adjust for both cards? or just one?

---- I'll prolly just upgrade to a 260 or a 280.... I cant fit crossfire in this case, so thats the next, and unfortunatly more expensive, best option.
