Default my second gen customize computer worklog - HUGE pictures!

note: stupid stinking ghey firefox3 crashes and lost everything what i type...

i will try to remember what i type before ____

---

my second gen customize computer - part list about 1200cdn

finally i have every parts to ready to be assembling... i think it worth to be waiting for good deal... right now i dont see any price is changing... so time for build... i start at 6pm aug 28 until 9:30 including clean, messy, error, read the manual for verify...

i remember how to build my first gen computer... compare to this 2 gen computer... they are completely different because of new parts... and fancy... stuff you know...

BUT they are still same progressing to build...

i apologize for ultra crappy blurry quality photos... i dont know why or how to configure my mom's new sony DC... its piece of $*#& anyway... if someone is professional photography or expert then plese tell me how...

anyway

here is my parts to ready for build...

first unpack the mobo... of course!

here is q9450 OEM

unpack true black

install processor

apply thermalright's thermal paste

try to spead out but FAIL! it dues to very thickness paste compare to my vga cooler product o_O

so i take my time to clean all of it with 99% alcohol... for a very long time... very messy... i mean a little makes a huge messy... i checked for no mark of paste

then re-apply it again... not fun... (probably 15 to 20 mins)

notice that its smaller and more neat than before because i dont want to spread it and i already read many guide from the internet... so x mark is best idea to apply on quad core... do you agree?

here is um heat plate of true black... it seems alright... according many people that its not flat... well it looks good enough... thermalright must have a reason to not flat it...

sorry about horrible photos...

installing true black on the cpu on the mobo... it looks great...

BUT

i check for gap of between cooling fins and true black fins... very little... but no contact yet... i hope nothing happens...

now install zm-f3 on true black... only one fan... i will need to request for helping about good air flow...

it looks good as far... too bad... the wire is very long and can't organize it...

i forge to mention... true black's clips is not good... little struggle until i know how to install properly... and i really hope that fan WILL NOT fall...

time for RAM!

i put it separately ( a1 and b2 slot)... for probably good idea... if not then please let me know...

what its for? water cooling... should i install it... what happen if i install it ;p

finally case! i admit it really looks nice than picture on many review sites...

unpack the PSU

install PSU then mobo... install some screws at top of mobo is very difficult because of tight room and my huge hand ;[

unpack the hard drive...

honestly... very very very easy to install into cm690

unpack the VGA

take some times to install evga because of huge size... so i have to remove one zip tie... and i also organize some wires to look good and spacey room for air flowing...

oh btw... i am disappoint in evga's um um plug... corsair module wire can't fitting into it so i use evga one then put long wire at under of the mobo tray... not bad as it look anyway

DONE!

now i will need to research on air flow... which direction... which negative or positive pressure, etc... someone can help then i will be very appreciate...

tonight i will install xp pro x64... i hope no hardware problem... and 10000 times better than my old gen1 computer ;p

i wonder what hardware tester program do you suggest? i know some software but i want to see the hardware tester programs what you use...

Ouch those were some rough pictures man....it might be lame but it you tell me the exact model I can tell you exactly how to fix that.......anyway pics aside nice rig.....the super low price of that GX2 has been tempting even without an SLI board.

Nice case and parts! You may be able to get better pictures if your flash was used? Usually with most digital cameras you hold the button down half way and wait a second or so. A box or some other indicator comes up on the screen and indicates it is ready to take the picture, then push it down the rest of the way.

Have a look at my transplant worklog... 1Tanker had some great pics of his cable routing and I tried to do it justice. It may give you some ideas for your cable management.

Good luck and is there anything more satisfying than making your own computer? Other than sex?

I cant tell you exactly how to navigate the menu but turn the camera to manual first then set the functions as so.

- iso 800
- turn you Mega pixels down 3.2 or 4 should be fine and will speed up image processing
- turn quality to ultra fine from fine
- force flash (if you push the flash button you should notice 3 setting off/auto/force flash
- try to hold it really stilll (obvious but funtional)

That little fan you mentioned is for the mosfet HS and is used if you don't have active cooling, eg. H20, but you do.

It sits right atop this, have a look in your owners manual.
